Our Top 5 Raincoats

The wet weather has hit, but there is no reason why you can’t step out in style. We recently hit the shops to find the best raincoats to keep you dry and looking chic throughout the autumn and winter months ahead.

Outerwear has taken the spotlight this month and is enjoying its moment in the fashion world. On the cat walks and in the high street stores a huge variety of coats feature, from traditional trench coats right through to sporty shell jackets.

The Trench Coat

Look chic in this double-breasted trench coat with a belt from Zara. This style will really cinch you in at the waist to give you a great shape. It is a fantastic option if you have a pear shape as it will add volume to your shoulders and balance out your body beautifully.

Technical Hooded Parka

Massimo Dutti caught our attention with this khaki parka which is a refreshing change from the usual black or navy. Khaki makes for a great base colour as it goes with everything. This practical coat has an adjustable waist so that you can create shape, unlike many of the boxy outwear styles that can be found.

Vinyl Smock

Add some sunshine to your outwear, with this bright yellow vinyl jacket from Hunter. This eye catching waterproof smock is a rainy day essential, whether you are heading out for a walk or on the daily commute. Features include a draw cord at the waist, an adjustable hood and hem.

Raincoat

Another fantastic waterproof option can be found at Cos Stores. This navy raincoat has a wonderfully smooth, rubbery texture and water-tight taped seams for added protection from the elements. We love the functional drawstring hood and vintage-inspired snap button and zip fastening.

Windbreaker Parker

Keep cozy over winter with this must-have winter parka from Jigsaw. Feel snug with its faux fur trimmed hood and warm teddy lining. This showerproof coat has an adjustable drawstring waist and concealed jet pockets. Complete the look by pairing it with jeans, knits and chunky boots.

Finding the right piece can be time consuming and costly so it is really important that you get lots of wear out of your outfit – not just on the big day. If you have been invited to attend a summer wedding at home or abroad, shopping for your outfit doesn’t need to be a drama if you know how.

Here we have selected a range of outfits which are perfect for any wedding as they will take you through the day and night, but best of all they can be worn again and again.

Midi Dress

We love this scattered daisy print midi dress from Whistles which is ideal for rectangle or apple shapes as it adds structure to shoulders and defines the waistline – creating the perfect hourglass. Team this fantastic dress with gold sandals and earrings for the wedding day or dress down afterwards with a pair of white trainers for an everyday summer look.

Wrap Front Dress

If you have an hourglass figure that suits tailoring and structure, look not further. The Marling midi dress from Reiss is beautifully designed with a wrap front. Wear with nude accessories on the wedding day and then utilise it in the workplace. Simply wear navy patent courts and navy blazer for the ultimate office look.

Halter Dress with Tie Detail

This Massimo Dutti Dress will suit most colourings and it is the ideal shade for a wedding. Its stunning halter neck is ideal if you have an inverted triangle shape. The dress can be worn in a variety of ways and will look fantastic with metallic accessories or classic black for the wedding. For an every day look you can wear it with a pair of tan flat sandals or a casual pair of wedges.

Retro Jumpsuit

No wardrobe is complete this summer without a jumpsuit and this playful piece from Anthropologie is a must have. The Clara Jumpsuit has a fantastic retro feel and provides a breezy silhouette, making it comfortable to wear. Team it with a tan bag and heels for a chic neutral look or add a pop of colour such as hot pink to lift the black.  Following the wedding it will look super with white trainers or pointed tan flats for a smart casual work look.

Maxi Dress

The Ingrid Maxi Dress is a stunning floor length garment from Reformation, available at Selfridges. This is a real statement piece and would be perfect for a black-tie wedding when worn with a striking necklace. A designer piece, it boasts a fantastic print and it comes crafted with wood pulp which is sourced from sustainably managed forests. Top Tips to help you find the Perfect Swimwear this Summer

Are you heading off to warmer climes this summer, but dread the thought of wearing a swimsuit? Finding a style that flatters your body shape will give you the confidence to step out into the sunshine and feel good about yourself.

An ill-fitting swimsuit will only cause you distress, so it is important that you take some time to try on a variety of styles. Today there are plenty of designer and high street branded options to complement all colours, shapes and sizes.

Here Rebeca Davies, a dedicated personal stylist and shopper, and Director of Style By Rebecca provides some useful tips to help you find the ideal swimwear:

Apple Shape

If you are an Apple Shape and perhaps blessed with being a little top heavy, it is important that you look for swimwear with good support. Try out pieces with bold prints or options that provide control in the tummy area such as this stunning plunge swimsuit from Fig leaves.

Pear Shape

Perhaps you have beautiful pear-shape with curves around your lower body and a smaller bust? You will benefit from paying attention to your upper half. Try on swimsuits that create a balance between your narrow chest and broader hips. Ruffles will add volume to your top half and create visual interest. Look at this striking swimsuit from Seafolly at House of Fraser.

Hourglass

If you boast an hourglass figure with your bust and hips being almost the same size, with a narrow waist, you should seek out swimwear that accentuates your features. Look for pieces that make the most of your waistline and enhance your bust. Try out this bold halter-neck one-piece swimsuit from Heidi Klein at Selfridges & Co.

Inverted Triangle

Do you have a cocktail glass shape and appear broad in the shoulders and narrow down in the legs? One shoulder swimsuits are you allies! Choose swimwear with underwiring if you have a larger bust and opt for styles with thicker straps as they will make your shoulders appear smaller. Check out this eye-catching swimsuit with crossover body detailing from Miraclesuit at Simply Beach.

Rectangle Shape

You may have a fantastic athletic frame, fewer curves and less waist definition. If so, you can enjoy wearing a swimsuit that adds some curve and definition to your body. Wider neck lines will draw attention to your waistline, creating a beautiful hourglass shape. Try suits featuring bold colours and prints to create the appearance of volume and shape. Here is a fine example of a swimsuit with a hidden shelf bra and side boning from Seafolly at Simply Beach.
